I am catholic. I went to catholic school and attended mass with my family every week. I left the church in my early twenties to explore what else was out there. I found the non denominational church that I attended to be very friendly with wonderful sermons but I started to miss the richness of the catholic church. I attended that church for several years. I struggled with the decision to return to the catholic church but as soon as I returned I knew I was home. I respect all faiths. Please respect mine. The majority of what you had to say wasn’t anywhere near the truth. I agree with the previous commenter, Ronnie Doyle with his statement expressing that the truth of the catholic church is so deep and beautiful. I suggest that you seek out a priest and have your questions/concerns addressed. There were things I did not understand about the catholic church. It took me getting away from it to realize how beautiful the catholic church truly is. I went to speak to a priest at length and studied the catechism to understand my faith. Ask a catholic about being catholic, such as a priest, deacon or nun. If I want to know about another faith I ask someone from that faith. I have asked friends who are of different faiths about their religious beliefs and they are more than happy to share their knowledge with me. I do not regret coming back home again to the catholic faith. God bless you. There is one God and He is big enough for all of us to share no matter what church we attend. There is no perfect church because the church is made up of people and people are not perfect. It is about the journey, not about if we stumble along the way. We all stumble at some point. Jesus loves each and every one of us. By the way, the crucifix is in our churches to remind us that Jesus died for our sins. Billy Graham who is a Baptist loves the crucifixes in our catholic churches. Billy Graham always preached about the cross. I think most of us have more in common than our differences.
