Stupid People are Crawling Out of the Woodwork

Stupid people seem to be multiplying like rabbits.

They’ve always been around, but lately the degree and frequency of stupidity seems to be soaring to new heights.

These people are everywhere….at work, at school, in the grocery store, at the other end of the phone when you call for customer service.

Not all stupid is created equal though.

Some forms are a bit more forgivable than others, and some forms should be punishable by the person being drawn & quartered.

Below is a list of 10 11, but we’ll call it 10, because I want it in the Tenz category.

Although this list is not all-inclusive, here are some common forms of stupid, in no particular order.

The line is a bit blurred between some, but you’ll see that there are subtle differences.

Some of the Many Varieties of Stupid

1. Book stupid

This one is pretty self-explanatory. These are the people who, although not technically illiterate, couldn’t comprehend something they read in a children’s book.

For the most part, these are the people who spend way too much time in front of the boob tube or playing video games.

They’ve never actually stimulated their brains in any intellectual fashion, so don’t expect them to be able to carry on an intelligent conversation.

2. Street stupid

Street stupid is arguably the most dangerous type.

These are the people who don’t react quickly enough to things in their environment, either because they over-think things or because they’re afraid.

If they hesitate to react in the wrong situation, they can get themselves and possibly you hurt or killed.

3. Naive stupid

Here you have one of the types of stupid that you can legitimately feel bad for when things go wrong.

These are the people who, even though they’ve been screwed over many times before, choose to give people the benefit of the doubt.

They believe everyone is good deep down inside, so they decide to trust them until the person proves they don’t deserve that trust.

Unfortunately, they get hurt frequently, and it’s difficult to convince them that some people are just bad and will use and abuse them regardless of what they do.

4. Lazy stupid

The lazy stupid people are those that could potentially have a good point, but don’t feel like putting forth the effort to make a valid argument.

For example, they would rather spew nonsense than actually research what they’re arguing about.

You probably see this a lot on Facebook.

Many times, they think that if it sounds good, people will just believe the stupid and inaccurate information they’re feeding them.

5. Hateful stupid

Fortunately, this isn’t quite as common as some other forms of stupid.

When you run into hateful stupid, you know it.

These are the folks who are so miserable with their lives that they will go out of their way to make other people cry.

When a debate deteriorates into something that involves the person verbally eviscerating you instead of sticking with the topic, you may have found one of these hateful stupid people.

They aren’t capable of convincing people or winning based upon facts, so they begin to attack you personally, because the worse you feel about yourself, the happier they are.

If you find yourself curled up in the fetal position in tears, you’re probably the unfortunate victim of one of these horrid, unhappy, insecure people.

6. Loud & Obnoxious Stupid

Here is another one that’s self-explanatory. I’m sure you’ve seen them.

That person yelling and cussing at someone in an effort to try to “resolve” a problem?

That’s loud and obnoxious stupid.

These people think that if they yell loud enough or insult the person they’re talking to enough, that they will somehow get the other person to agree that they were right.

Not based on facts or logic. Based upon the fact that they’re skilled at carrying on like an idiot.

This type of stupid doesn’t win you arguments and it doesn’t win you friends. It only makes you look like a moron.

7. Arrogant Stupid

Oh, this one’s fun!

Arrogant stupid are the people who are so in love with what they see in the mirror that they believe their looks somehow make them smart too.

Being hot doesn’t equate with being smart.

Again, if you aren’t a person that researches things or is aware of what’s going on in the world, don’t act like you know everything.

You may very well just be giving other hot people a bad rep by making people think you’re all arrogant stupid.

People that are truly intelligent don’t usually feel the need to be arrogant about it.

8. “Stop eating the paste” stupid

I saw that term in a Gilmore Girls episode years ago, and it still makes me giggle.

There are a couple reasons a person could fit this description.

For some, it’s through no fault of their own. If they were born with a less than average mental capacity, then God bless them. Much love to them <3

However, if someone falls into this category through their own stupidity, they deserve to be made fun of.

If you’ve fried your brain through years of excessive drug or alcohol use and are no longer functioning at normal capacity, sorry but you deserve what you get.

All of us have rough periods throughout our lives, but drowning our problems in drugs & alcohol will never fix the situation.

If you have a problem with substance abuse, I urge you to seek support before you end up one of these “stop eating the paste” kind of stupid people.

You only get one mind and one body. Don’t waste them.

9. Highly-educated stupid

College educated people are supposed to be smart, right?

If you work in an environment that contains a lot of people with graduate and PhDs, you’ll probably agree that isn’t true.

From my observations, I’ve noticed that the more formal education a person has, the less common sense they possess.

It’s kind of like a see-saw….when the “intelligence” side goes up, the common sense side of the see-saw goes down.

Maybe there isn’t enough room in the human brain to juggle both kinds of intelligence.

Or maybe these highly-educated people feel that they’re so smart that they shouldn’t waste time using common sense anymore.

Either way, it’s an ugly trend….and one that has inspired me to stop with my Bachelor’s degree. I prefer having common sense, thank you very much.

10. Vengeful stupid

Vengeful stupid is sort of like hateful stupid, but worse.

In fact, they are a very special kind of stupid.

The vengeful ones will go to the ends of the earth to destroy you if you make them mad.

Although not always, this usually happens with someone you know on a very personal level.

If you slight them, they will take it to the extreme, and set out to destroy your reputation, your livelihood, and possibly your life just to get revenge.

They often don’t care what the consequences may be, even if it involves charges being filed.

If you happen to run into someone that you think is a vengeful stupid, run away as fast as you can.

You cannot reason with these people. Their out-of-control blind rage means they will stop at nothing to hurt you or destroy everything you’ve worked for.

11. “I’m above you in the hierarchy so I think I’m smart” stupid

These are the bosses that know less than their subordinates.

They landed a management position, not necessarily because they deserved it, but possibly based upon the fact that the company had a need and weren’t quickly able to find someone better qualified.

Everyone hates these kinds of managers.

Since they’re in a management position, they feel that alone qualifies them as intelligent and all-knowing.

They are always right, even though they’re usually wrong.

Their way is the only way, even if you can prove that your way will yield better and faster results.

These kinds of people make the workplace miserable, and quite often the company would be better off having no one fill that position than settling for stupid, arrogant, and incompetent.
